  • long grained rice (basmati) – 1 cups
  • salt – 1 tsp
  • oil – 2 tsp
  • water – 2 cups
  • cloves (laung) – 4-5

  • rinse the rice under running water, rubbing the grains together between the palms of your hands, continue this rinsing until the water runs fairly clear.
