Ingredients

Ingredients for Veg Frankie Recipe | Veg Roll Recipe:

    Paratha or Wraps Ingredients:

    • 1 cup Plain Flour / Maida (you can also use wheat flour)
    • ½ tsp Salt (as needed)
    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • ½ cup Warm Water (To knead the dough)

    Ingredients for Filling Recipe for Veg Kathi Roll:

    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
    • 2 medium Onion (sliced)
    • ½ cup Capsicum (colored bell peppers-sliced)
    • 2 cups Cabbage (shredded-drained completely)
    • ½ tsp Vinegar
    • ¼ tsp Black Pepper Powder
    • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
    • ½ tsp Salt (Adjust as per taste)
    • 2 tsp Tomato Sauce
    • 1 tsp Green Chili Sauce
    • 1 tsp Garlic Szechuan Sauce

    Vegetable Roll | Veg Frankie Ingredients:

    • 1 tbsp Chaat Masala
    • ½ cup Tomato Sauce
    • 2 tbsp Green Chili Sauce
    • 2 tbsp Garlic Szechuan Sauce
    • 1 medium Onion (sliced)

    Instructions

    How to make Wraps | Paratha Recipe:

    • Firstly, take a bowl, add plain flour/maida, salt, oil and mix well.
    • Further, add water as required to knead a soft dough and knead the dough for 5-10 minutes.
    • Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes.
    • After 30 minutes, divide the dough into equal balls.
    • Take the dough ball and roll the dough ball evenly to make a round paratha.
    • Further, heat a tawa and place the paratha on a hot tava or griddle.
    • When one side has partly cooked, flip the paratha for veg kathi roll.
    • Further, drizzle about 1 tsp of oil on the partly cooked part.
    • After that, flip again and this time this side has to be cooked more than the previous side. You will see brown spots on the paratha.
    • Further, spread some oil on this side too.
    • Press it down with a spatula.
    • After that, flip again once or twice till both the sides of paratha are cooked properly.
    • Finally, remove the paratha or wrap for Veg Roll from heat.
    • Similarly, prepare the rest of the parathas or wraps.

    Instructions for Filling Recipe:

    • Firstly, heat a Kadai / Wok on high flame and add 1 tbsp oil.
    • Additionally, add chopped onions and cook the onions for about 2 minutes on high flame.
    • Further, add ginger garlic paste and cook for a few seconds.
    • After that, add chopped cabbage and chopped capsicum. Keep the flame on high and roast the veggies for about 3-4 minutes.
    • Now add soy sauce, and vinegar into the veggies and mix well.
    • Further, add m.s.g (monosodium glutamate) or Ajinomoto, salt, and black pepper powder. Mix well all the ingredients.
    • Make sure don't overcook the veggies.
    • Turn off the flame.
    • Finally, the filling for vegetable frankies or Veg Kathi Roll is ready.

    Veg Frankie Recipe:

    • Firstly, place a paratha / wrap on a plate.
    • Add the cooked mixed veggies on the centre of the wrap/paratha.
    • Further, spread some tomato sauce, green chilli sauce, garlic Szechuan sauce and some chaat masala.
    • After that, add some sliced onion over it and roll the paratha.
    • Similarly, prepare the rest of the Frankies.
    • Roll into aluminium foil or butter paper covering the mixed veg frankie roll.
    • Finally, your veggie roll or Veg Kathi Roll is ready to be served and serve immediately.

    Notes

    • Firstly, prepare the paratha/wrap and filling separately. Make the Frankies when ready to serve.
    • Secondly, you can also use a thin tortilla instead of homemade wrap for this veg frankie roll recipe.
