Ingredients

Potato stuffing/filling Ingredients:

  • 4 medium Boiled Potatoes
  • ½ tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Green Chili (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Mango Powder / Amchur Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt (adjust as per taste)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander (finely chopped)

Ingredients for bread pakoda recipe:

  • 8 slices Bread
  • 2 cup Gram Flour / Besan (can use coarse besan for crunch)
  • ¼ tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / Hing
  • ½ tsp Salt (adjust as per taste)
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil (for frying the pakoras)

Instructions

Instructions for Aloo stuffing / filling Recipe:

  • Firstly, pressure cook potatoes for 3-4 whistles. wait till it cools.
  • Once cool, peel off the skin and roughly mash them well with a potato masher or a ladle's back.
  • Further, take a bowl and add all the ingredients: mashed potatoes, roasted cumin seeds, coriander powder, green chili, red chili powder, mango powder, salt, garam masala, and fresh coriander for bread pakoda stuffing/filling.
  • After that, mix all the ingredients very well.
  • Finally, Potato Stuffing is ready now.

Aloo stuffed Bread Pakoda Recipe:

  • Firstly, take gram flour/besan in any big bowl.
  • Further, add salt, turmeric powder, asafoetida, red chili powder, and baking soda.
  • Add water little by little and prepare a batter. Make sure the gram flour batter is not too drippy or too dense.
  • After that, heat the oil in a Kadai/wok. The oil for frying bread pakoras should be aptly heated and keep the flame medium.
  • Take a bread slice, layer stuffing over it, and place another slice over it. Press it very gently and seal.
  • Further, cut bread into two pieces, giving it a triangular shape.
  • Likewise, prepare all bread slices.
  • Now, coat the bread with a gram flour batter/ besan batter and place it in hot oil for frying.
  • Further, fry the bread pakoras for 1-2 minutes from both side.
  • After that, take them out on a plate.
  • Similarly, prepare all bread pakodas.
  • Now, again coat the bread pakora with gram flour batter one more time and place it in hot oil for frying.
  • Fry the bread pakoras until they turn golden brown in color from both sides.
  • Once fried, take them out on a plate with absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  • Similarly, prepare all bread pakoras.
  • Finally, serve delicious and steaming hot Postuffed bread pakoda or bread pakora with green coriander chutney, and tomato sauce.
