Ingredients

Kuttu ke Pakode Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Potato Slices
  • 2 cups Kuttu Atta / Singhara Atta
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder / Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Sendha Namak / Salt (adjust as per taste)
  • 1 cup Water (as per requirement)
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Firstly, peel the skin of the potatoes and slice them thinly.
  • Make sure that the slices of potatoes must not very thick otherwise they will not cook on frying.
  • Further, rinse the slices in water to remove the starch from the potatoes.
  • Now drain the excess water with the help of a strainer and keep it aside.
  • To prepare the kuttu atta batter for Kuttu ke Pakode | Falahari Pakode Recipe, take a mixing bowl and add kuttu atta, black pepper powder / red chili powder, and Sendha Namak.
  • Additionally, add water to the bowl gradually and whisk smooth to make a smooth batter without any lumps.
  • Make sure that the kuttu atta batter should not be runny nor very thick, and adjust the water to get a medium consistency.
  • To deep-fry the kuttu ke pakore, heat enough oil in a kadai/wok.
  • Further, dip the few sliced potatoes into the prepared kuttu atta batter and coat it completely.
  • Gently slide the batter coated potato slices into the hot oil.
  • Also, stir occasionally and fry the kuttu pakore.
  • Flip the sides of the falhari pakode and cook well the kuttu pakoras on both sides.
  • Fry them till they turn golden brown.
  • Take out the Kuttu ke pakode on absorbent paper and remove excess oil.
  • Further, prepare all of the Kuttu Pakodas for navratri in this same manner.
  • Finally, Kuttu ke Pakore for Navratri Fast is ready to be served.
  • Serve these kuttu ke pakode with Coriander Chutney, Imli Chutney, and Curd on navratri fast or any fasting day.

Notes

  • You can also use singhara atta instead of kuttu ka atta / vrat ka atta.
  • If you want a more crisp texture then double fry the kuttu pakoras.
