Ingredients

Kuttu ke Dahi Vada / Kuttu Dahi Bhalla Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Boiled Potatoes
  • ½ cup Kuttu Flour / Singhara Atta
  • ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder (Optional)
  • ¼ tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Green Chili (finely chopped)
  • ½ tsp Sendha Namak / Rock Salt (adjust as per taste)
  • ½ cup Water (as per requirement)
  • Oil for deep frying

Ingredients for Serving:

  • 2 cups Curd
  • ¼ cup Meethi Saunth / Imli Chutney
  • ¼ cup Coriander Chutney
  • 1 tbsp Roasted Jeera Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder / Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Sendha Namak (adjust as per taste)

Instructions

How to make Kuttu Pakora at home:

  • Firstly, mash the boiled potatoes and keep them aside.
  • Secondly, take a mixing bowl and kuttu atta and water. Mix well to make a thick paste.
  • Now, add mashed potatoes to this kuttu paste.
  • Additionally, add finely chopped green chili, black pepper powder, red chili powder, and Sendha Namak / Rock Salt.
  • Further, mix all the ingredients well.
  • Tip - The batter of kuttu pakoda should be very thick consistent and droppable. If it looks too thin, then add some more kuttu atta and if it looks very thick, then add some water.
  • Heat enough oil in a deep frying Pan / Kadai over high heat.
  • Once the oil becomes hot, drop small kuttu pakoras in the oil using your fingers.
  • Turn over the kuttu pakoras again and again and fry them till they turn crispy and golden brown.
  • Take out the kuttu ki dahi pakode on a plate.
  • Further, prepare all of the Kuttu Dahi Bhalla / Kuttu dahi vadas for navratri in this same manner.
  • Finally, You can serve this kuttu pakora with coriander chutney or you can serve this as dahi bhalla / dahi vada.

How to Make Kuttu Dahi Bhalla | Kuttu Dahi Vada Recipe:

  • Firstly, take 2 cups of curd into a big mixing bowl, 1/2 tsp of sendha namak, and whisk it smoothly.
  • The consistency of curd should be medium (Not so thick or so thin).
  • Now, soak the kuttu pakodas in curd for at least 20-25 minutes.
  • Further, take out them on a serving plate.
  • Additionally, sprinkle some jeera powder, salt, black pepper powder, or red chili powder.
  • Now pour some meethi saunth or Imli Chutney and coriander chutney.
  • Finally, serve this delicious kuttu dahi bhalla aka kuttu dahi vada, or kuttu dahi pakodi immediately.

Notes

  • You can also use singhara flour instead of kuttu atta.
  • If you want a more crisp texture then double fry the Kuttu Pakoras.
  • The batter of kuttu pakoda should be very thick consistent and droppable. If it looks too thin, then add some more kuttu atta & if it looks very thick, then add some water.
