  • Further, add Maize flour/Makki atta/makai ka atta, fresh chopped methi, and salt, in a mixing bowl and mix them well.

  • Please try my Methi Makki Roti Video Recipe for more details.
  • If the dough becomes sticky, add more flour or if the dough is dry, add some water.
  • knead the dough for a few minutes until the dough become firm and smooth, with just the right rolling consistency.
  • After that, knead the dough with wet hands and make a ball.
  • Further, prepare round rotis by patting the batter on a board with your hands or you can also roll by keeping the batter in between 2 sheets of polythene.
  • Or flatter the dough with your palm, and then roll it into a spread using the rolling pin.
  • Now, pick the methi makki di roti, pat it between your hands to shake off the excess flour, and place it on the hot tawa.
  • Further, in about 30 seconds the little bubble will start appearing, with the help of a spatula turn the methi makai roti over to the other side and cook for a few seconds.
  • This time this side has to be cooked more than the previous side. you will see brown spots on the makai methi roti.
  • Further, cook both sides partially as we will be cooking directly on the flame.
  • After that, Place the makki methi roti on the flame directly, and cook it.
  • Cook the chapatis perfectly as per the video or pic or as a regular roti recipe.
  • In addition, apply some ghee to the roti.
  • Finally, serve this hot and yummy methi makki roti or methi makai chapati with any Sabzi Recipes, Methi Chutney, and Rai ka Achar.

Notes

  • First, make sure to knead the maize dough really well, if there are cracks then the roti will not puff up.
  • Additionally, if you are not comfortable cooking the chapati on direct flame then you can try to puff up on hot tawa itself.
