Boiling macaroni is not as easy as it sounds. If not done right you are left with undercooked or overcooked soggy pasta. Boiling pasta is an art and requires precision to do it correctly every time.

Ingredients
  

  • Macaroni elbow-shaped pasta – 2 cup (300 grams)
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tsp

Instructions
 

  • Take 3 ltr of water in any utensil or pan and place it on high flame and bring it to a boil.
  • Depending on the amount of macaroni pasta you are using for this, you may need more or less water to boil.
  • When water starts boiling add 2 tsp oil, 1 tsp salt, and mix well.
  • Without salt, macaroni can taste a bit bland. You can always adjust the amount to salt as per your taste too.
  • Further, add 2 cups of macaroni i.e. 300 grams of uncooked macaroni pasta into it.
  • Once you’ve added the macaroni to the pot or utensil, Keep stirring the macaroni to avoid it from sticking together.
  • Cook for 10 to 12 minutes or till the macaroni is 90% cooked i.e they should have a slight bite to them.
  • Stir at regular intervals to prevent macaroni pasta from sticking at the bottom. (different brands of pasta may vary in size and cooking time).
  • Now check the macaroni is boiled or not by cutting a piece of macaroni using a knife.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Strain off the macaroni using a strainer.
  • Pour some cold water to stop the cooking process, and stir once.
  • Drain and transfer them to a big plate. keep aside.
  • You can use this boiled macaroni immediately in your dish.
  • For better results keep this boiled macaroni aside for at least 4-5 hours before using it. This process helps keep the pasta from breaking down into small pieces while you use it in your dish.
  • Finely, perfect boiled macaroni pasta is ready to be used in your pasta dishes.
